Join this free Seminar by Colin Johnson to learn more about chemical free gardening
Colin’s belief has always been that there is far too much over-thinking regarding the growing and raising of healthy plants. Join Colin and learn how to restore our environment by helping to decontaminate our soil and improve the metabolism of plant life, and increase the nutritional value within our foods.
You are what you eat. We hear this all the time, but what does it really mean? This speaking session will
At the 1992 Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro a report was presented outlining the decline in soil minerals in agricultural land throughout the developed world. Australian soils were shown to have lost 55% of the soil minerals in as little as 100 years.
But why was that relevant? Modern agricultural, horticultural and gardening techniques are still recommended to grow the plants we need for survival, but the plants themselves seem to be more and more susceptible to issues. These issues often need to be addressed with concentrated chemicals, which in turn have an adverse effect on the very environment they are supposed to be helping.
As gardeners, we are encouraged to add animal waste and/or chemical fertilisers to grow our plants. However, it is unnatural for plants to grow in concentrated manures, or on the synthetic chemical compounds we commonly label as fertiliser. Why are these methods not working? Nature has provided a perfect example of what we need, with the healthiest and most fertile soils being volcanic mineral based and humus rich soils that teem with active biology.
The challenge is to recreate this volcanic-type, humus-rich and biologically active soil for ourselves without trucking in loads of imported soils. By restoring the mineral balance as well as the biological cycle in our soils we are able to help restore our immediate environment helping to decontaminate our soil and improve the metabolism of the plant life, and subsequently the nutritional value within our foods.
