Who Are We
The idea of GUTSY Ferments was first founded in 2013 by our founders Josh & Wei’er. Being passionate about long, slow and chemical free fermentation, they took time to experiment with fermenting in oak barrels. The layers of flavours that came through each vegetable ferment got them & their kids hooked onto oak barrel fermentation. They then decided to share that with everyone. At present, they have set up their very own fermentery at Darra with an enthusiastic team of expert fermenters crafting Australia’s most delicious oak barrel fermented krauts & kimchi.
What to expect
Besides the regular range of ferments, we will be bringing along a series of limited Winter’s seasonal ferments such as Cauliflower Kimchi, Grapefruit & Kimchi tonic, Green Papaya kraut just to name a few. There will also be a range of gourmet seed oils (such as Pumpkin seed oil, Hemp seed oil, Walnut oil) available for tasting and sale to complement the ferments.
If you keep your eyes peeled, you might even be able to snatch up a jar of sourdough cookie dough too!
