Our concept of ‘contemporary organics’ applies the best modern practice in vineyard and winery management ensuring the lowest environmental pollution and carbon footprint, without accepting pesticide residues. Tamburlaine Organic Wines operates certified organic vineyards in the Hunter Valley and Orange Regions in NSW and our certified organic winery is located the Hunter Valley. Our enthusiasm to re-define winemaking, through experimenting with modern best practice in vineyard management, incorporating practical and sustainable strategies that continue to produce brilliant wine. Through our production of organic, vegan friendly, low sulphur or no added sulphur wines, we strive to create quality wines accessible to all wine lovers.
After a long period of vineyard observation and trials, in 2002 we took the first steps toward organic certification for some of our Hunter Valley blocks. This meant a full management program which replaced synthetic chemicals, improved soil organic matter and simulated the vines’ natural defences – as they say, ‘the story is in the soil’.
The health of the soils and the vines allows us to consistently harvest fruit of the highest quality. After challenging years of research and development, we now enjoy an enviable position as Australia’s largest producer of organic wines.
