Who We Are
Tesla is accelerating the world’s transition to sustainable energy by designing and manufacturing electric vehicles and energy storage systems. Under construction is the Tesla Gigafactory–the world’s largest lithium ion battery factory, where Tesla produces Powerwall, a residential battery pack, as well as commercial and utility-grade Powerpack storage systems designed to help reduce electricity costs, increase renewable energy consumption and create a more resilient electricity grid.
Tesla currently produces two premium electric vehicles – Model S and Model X – engineered from the ground up to be the world’s best and safest car and SUV, respectively. Model 3, our third generation elective vehicle has begun delivery in the US.
What to Expect
Tesla Tiny House has hit the road and is making its way around Australia to educate the public on how to generate, store and use renewable energy for their home.
Towed by the all-electric Tesla Model X, Tiny House will be on display at the Brisbane Eco Expo with energy experts on hand to answer any questions about how Tesla’s energy products can help to sustainably power your home, protect you from outages and reduce your energy bills.
Powered by 100% renewable energy via a 2 kW solar system and Powerwall, Tiny House contains a mobile design studio and configurator which can calculate how your home can generate clean energy from the sun using solar panels, storing it in Powerwall to use throughout the day and night, which can all be monitored and controlled by the Tesla app.
Powerwall is a rechargeable lithium-ion battery designed to enable self-consumption of solar power and reduce reliance on the grid, as well as for full home backup, load shifting and other grid service applications. Powerwall 2 consists of a 14 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, liquid thermal control system to operate at temperatures ranging from -10 to 50+ degrees, an integrated inverter and software that intelligently dispatches electricity when it’s needed most. Up to ten Powerwall’s can be stacked to accommodate any sized home which mounts seamlessly on a wall or on the ground, indoors or outdoors, and is integrated with the grid to export excess energy, maximising the opportunity for economic benefit.
